The Bells Have Arrived!
With great joy, we share that three beautiful cast bronze bells have arrived from Serbia — a generous gift from our beloved Kolo Sisters. Nearly five years ago, our old bell system failed beyond repair. After prayerful discussion and with the blessing of our parish membership, it was decided that true bronze bells would be acquired and that a new tower would be built to house them.
Now the bells are here — waiting for their permanent home.
Why Bells Matter
For centuries, the ringing of church bells has called the faithful to prayer, announced services, and proclaimed the feasts of the Church. Bells accompany processions, welcome hierarchs, and toll solemnly in memory of the departed. They are rung to proclaim triumph, to dispel fear, and above all, to glorify God.
As one ancient prayer beautifully expresses:
“That Thy faithful servants, having heard the peal of these bells, may be strengthened in piety and faith; and with courage, may oppose all the slanders of the devil, and overcome them by prayer and the everlasting glorification of Thee, the true God.”
A Lasting Symbol of Faith
We are now moving into the next phase of this blessed project — the construction of the bell tower. Just as past generations built our church, cultural center, pavilion, and hall, we too are called to add to their legacy. This tower will not only house our bells but also stand as a spiritual beacon for future generations.
How You Can Help
The most blessed way forward is for each of us to contribute what we can, so that together we raise this tower for the glory of God.
